A situation in which bleeding occurs every 14 days or lasts as long as 10 days with regular use of patches is not a normal condition and requires a gynecological consultation. Although intracyclic spotting occurs at the beginning of contraception, after 8 months the body should be fully adapted to hormones.
Such frequent and heavy bleeding can lead to anemia and, above all, may suggest that the selected dose of hormones is insufficient to stabilize the uterine mucosa or there are other medical causes (e.g. polyps or fibroids). Do not stop using the patches yourself, but make an appointment for an ultrasound examination as soon as possible to rule out abnormalities and consider changing your contraceptive method to another one.
