Can chronic bleeding after inserting the Mirena IUD cause deficiencies in the body?
12.99 zł

Good morning
4 weeks ago I was placed with the Mirena IUD, I have been bleeding for 4 weeks, I have no other symptoms. 4 days ago I went to the gynecologist, she said that everything was fine and prescribed me cyclomine. But for a few days now I've been worried, because my bleeding almost all the time, it's a little less than periodic, but it's not small. Should I supplement something? Whether such daily bleeding will not cause some major deficiencies in the organ, I don't know if I should worry

Chronic bleeding may be an indication to supplement iron deficiencies, if any. To confirm or rule out the risk of developing anaemia, blood tests should be performed. The Mirena IUD can cause increased bleeding in rare cases without a specific, diagnosed cause. If the situation does not normalize in the following weeks, it is worth visiting a doctor again for a consultation. Most patients who use the Mirena IUD see bleeding reduced or completely disappeared more often.
