If the contraceptive pills were stored in the car for a few hours, from 10 p.m. to 3 p.m., when it was -2 degrees outside, could this affect their effectiveness? They were in the original packaging in a cosmetic bag and in a purse, I think that the temperature in the car was not negative, how does this affect their effectiveness?? Today is Sunday and I can't buy a new pack

If the tablets have been in the car for several hours in the original packaging and additionally in a cosmetic bag and purse, the probability of exposing them to temperatures below 0°C is small, especially if the car has not been cooled to freezing temperatures.
Short-term exposure to a slightly reduced temperature usually does not negatively affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception – extreme and long-lasting changes are the most harmful. The manufacturers' recommendations suggest storing the tablets at room temperature, however, a single incident is unlikely to cause a loss of effect. You can continue to use the tablets, observing whether the tablets have changed in appearance or smell.
