Is it normal that bleeding still occurs after 2 weeks of applying the Mirena IUD?
12.99 zł

Hello, 2 weeks ago I was put on a mirena IUD and I stopped using vibin mini contraception. For 11 days I observed bleeding resembling the periodic one, for 2 days I practically did not bleed at all and today the bleeding appeared again, it is small, but it is there. Should I be worried?

Then there is no reason to worry. This is a normal situation and the bleeding will disappear with the time you wear the IUD.

I have no other symptoms, sometimes I feel my lower abdomen slightly, yesterday only more strongly for about 2 hours. Apart from that, I feel very good, only these bleedings have returned, they are weaker than the period, but stronger than spotting

If the bleeding is not accompanied by severe abdominal pain, nausea, weakness or fever, there is no reason to worry.

This is usually the time when the body gets used to the supply of hormones from the IUD. Bleeding is also a reaction to discontinuation of the tablets.

However, if the bleeding in the following days becomes more intense and other worrying symptoms appear, then you should urgently consult a gynecologist.

At the moment, however, there is no reason to worry. The situation should be regulated, i.e. the bleeding should gradually subside.

It should be borne in mind that a common side effect (especially during the first 2-3 months after application) of the Mirena IUD is spotting and intracyclic bleeding. Therefore, the situation may repeat itself.
