I've been using Drovelis birth control pills for a year now, and recently I've had a few days of spotting and menstrual symptoms — is this a sign that I should change my pills?

Hey, I've been taking Drovelis birth control pills for a year. In the middle of the cycle I got a slight two-day spotting, then I had a day off and then spotting. I felt like during my period, slight stomach aches and nausea. What could this mean? I ruled out pregnancy and I haven't had much stress lately and I'm afraid that this may be a sign to change the pills

Spotting, abdominal pain and nausea when using Drovelis contraceptive pills can be symptoms of hormones and the body's adaptation to the drug, especially if they have occurred despite previous trouble-free use.

Such symptoms can also mean hormonal disorders, effects on the uterine mucosa or minor metastatic bleeding, which sometimes occurs in women taking hormonal contraception. Exclusion of pregnancy is very important, and if symptoms are severe, persist or irregular, heavy bleeding occurs, you should consult a gynaecologist to assess whether it is necessary to change the method of contraception or preparation. Confirmation of the absence of pregnancy can be a pregnancy test performed after about 10 days after intercourse:

In a situation where there are no other worrying symptoms and the spotting is short-lived, it does not have to mean that you need to change the tablets, but it is worth observing the body's reaction and coming for a check-up at the next doctor's visit. If you are not able to use a stationary visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:
