Burning sensation in the stomach after clindamycin (Clindanea) may be due to its irritating effect on the gastrointestinal tract. It is recommended to take the medication during or just after a meal and with a full glass of water to reduce the risk of irritation. Also, avoid lying down immediately after taking the tablet.
If your symptoms get worse, persist or are accompanied by severe pain, nausea or bleeding, contact your doctor – you may need to change your treatment. It is also worth informing the doctor about the ailments during the next consultation.
