Can an Amitriptiline pill taken without drinking (stuck in the throat) cause irritation?

I would like to warn everyone not to take amitriptyline without water. If the tablet gets stuck in the throat, it burns terribly at the point. The next day I went to the ENT, who diagnosed a chemical burn. I had severe pain when swallowing for several days. Despite my hint, the pharmaceutical company did not want to explicitly warn the patients about it. That's why I'm doing this here. So swallow it with plenty of water!

Information on the need to wash down the medicine with water is included in the leaflet:

"How and when to take Amitriptylinum VP:

This medicine can be taken with or without food.
Swallow the tablets with water. They should not be chewed."

Read the package leaflet before starting to use the medicines.

As a general rule, each medicine should be taken with enough water to allow the tablet to pass through the oesophagus.
