Can I take 5 mg of Spamilan and 25 mg of Zoloft in one day (doctor's recommendation)?
50.00 zł

Hello, for three months I have been taking the drug spamilan 2×5mg unfortunately it did not work completely, on Friday the doctor ordered me to stop taking spamilan and recommended to introduce zoloft. This morning I took zoloft 25mg and tonight I have to take spamilan 5mg and so on for a week. After a week I have come down quite that spamilan and take zoloft 50 mg in the morning. Now I have read that these drugs should not be combined, what to do about it? I'm a little scared.

Pramolan or Sedam can only be taken after consultation with a psychiatrist, following the directions on dosages and times of medication. Pramolan is an antidepressant/anxiolytic and when combined with Zoloft, there may also be a risk of interactions and side effects (hence the need for dosage modification). Sedam can only be used on an ad hoc basis, in minimal acting doses, due to the possibility of habituation and addiction.

And can you take pramolan ad hoc with zoloft or is it better to sedam if your anxiety intensifies?

The procedure of changing an antidepressant usually takes longer and consists of gradually reducing the dose of one preparation and introducing small doses of the other. The risk of serotonin syndrome is minimized because the doses of drugs taken are much lower than the standard doses used alone. Such a strategy of action also allows you to avoid side effects associated with both discontinuation of the drug and the implementation of a new treatment. I suggest taking medication according to medical recommendations. If you observe any disturbing symptoms (e.g. increased blood pressure, excessive agitation), you should consult a psychiatrist.
