Are light bleeding, abdominal pain, aching ovaries, breasts, and general fatigue after taking Escapelle normal side effects, and how long can they last?

Hello, on June 24 I took the "morning after" pill Escapelle, on June 29 I got a slight bleeding, and the next day there was still light bleeding but my stomach hurt for my period, today is July 1 and my ovaries hurt, the bleeding continues. In addition, my breasts hurt and I feel general fatigue, could these be the side effects of this drug, is it normal and how long can they last?

The symptoms you describe are typical side effects after taking the "morning after" Escapelle pill.

Irregular mid-cycle bleeding is a very common side effect with Escapelle, affecting more than 1 in 10 patients. They can persist until the next menstrual period. Lower abdominal pain is also a commonly reported side effect after taking Escapelle. Breast pain and fatigue can also occur as side effects of the drug.

The duration of these symptoms can vary from woman to woman, but they usually go away within a few days to a week. It is worth remembering that most women have their period on time, but it can occur a few days earlier or later than usual.

If menstrual bleeding is delayed for more than 5 days or is unusually scanty or heavy, it is recommended that you see your doctor. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

If you plan to have sex after taking Escapelle, you should use additional contraception (e.g. condoms) until your next period.
