Should I be careful with tyramine with Cital and can I have a beer or a drink?
9.99 zł

Good morning. Should I watch out for tyramine during treatment with Cital? I've read that this is a harmful combination only in the case of MAOI inhibitors.
I would also like to make sure if it is harmful to have an occasional beer/drink in the case of Cital treatment? The leaflet states that Cital does not interact with alcohol. Thank you. Brands

Both citalopram (Cital) and escitalopram (Oroes) are not MAOIs and do not interact with tyramine. More in a similar post on the forum:

According to the manufacturer of Cital:
"Cital has been shown not to increase the effects of alcohol. However, it is recommended that you do not consume alcohol during your Cital therapy." If you decide to have a beer or a cocktail during the Cital treatment, you should observe your body's reaction and limit yourself to small amounts of alcohol.
