Does Kyleena reduce the effectiveness of Ellaone?
31.00 zł

Last week on 11.03 I got my period, on 17.03 while still menstruating, I had intercourse to the end, with ejaculation. I've had Kyleena IUD for over a year now, but I've never had sex all the way - only the intermittent method. A day later, on 18.03, I took a pill of Ella One.
I'm terrified of getting pregnant again. Did the Ella One work with Kyleena's IUD? Can I be calm? I have an appointment with my gynecologist next Thursday. Thanks

Ellaone is an emergency contraceptive that is effective when taken up to 120 hours after unprotected sex.
Kyleena is a levonorgestrel IUD that is an effective method of contraception. The risk of getting pregnant with an intrauterine system is very low. The Pearl Index for hormonal IUDs is 0.5 to 0.7. This means that for every 100 women using this method of contraception within 1 year, less than 1 of them will become pregnant. Yes, Ellaone works in patients who have a Kyleena IUD.

I encourage you to read the thread in which the use of Ellaone in patients with an IUD is explained in more detail:
