Am I protected after switching from Logest to Drovelis and is there no reason to worry?
19.99 zł

Good morning! This month I switched from contraception to drovelis (I was taking 1.5 years). After the 21st of the last pill of logest I took a 7 day break and started taking drovelis as I would continue to take logest. Have I done everything correctly and is it effective? I'm very stressed about it because I had unprotected sex on the 10th pill of drovelis.

To @Monika:

The risk of ectopic pregnancy increases in women with hypertrophic lesions and adhesions, which arise, m.in, as a result of inflammation of the appendages, using intrauterine devices, with congenital defects of the fallopian tubes.

According to the available literature, ovarian follicles grow to about 10 mm with contraceptive pills. The size of 11 mm is definitely this size "approximately". Later, the follicle does not grow and ovulation does not occur.

If you have any doubts about the effectiveness of your contraception, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. You can also take advantage of a teleconsultation via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:

Thank you! Does the risk of ectopic pregnancy increase in this case?

The thickness of the endometrium is important in this case, fertilization is possible when its thickness is more than 7 mm - preferably 8-10 mm. In your case it is 2.7 mm, so there is no possibility of possible implantation of the egg.

Thank you for your reply. I would also like to add that on the 10th day of the cycle (if you count from the first day of bleeding) I had an ultrasound. The endometrium was 2.7 mm and the follicle was 11 mm. I had already taken 5 drovelis tablets at that time. I'm very scared that my follicle is growing and that ovulation can't take place. Does the size of the endometrium correspond to the size it is supposed to be for contraception? I had unprotected intercourse on the 5th and 10th pills of drovelis. I'm terribly afraid that the pills won't work.

You have done the right thing and there is no need to worry. Protection was maintained at all times – both during the 7-day bleeding interval and from the first Drovelis tablet.

Here you can check the availability of the medicine and make a reservation at the pharmacy:

In the first 2-3 months after switching from Logest to Drovelis, bleeding and mid-cycle spotting may occur, at which point you should continue to use the tablets and protection is provided. The situation should normalize in the following cycles.
