Can Rhythmonorm be used for arrhythmia caused by Escitalopram?

There are important pharmacological interactions between Escitalopram and Rytmonorm. If you use both medicines at the same time, you are at risk of side effects from the propafenone in Rytmonorm. These include dizziness, falls, symptoms suggestive of coronary insufficiency. The risk of QT prolongation and arrhythmia is increased.

Rytmonorm is a prescription medicine and it is the doctor who must decide whether it is appropriate to introduce the medicine into your treatment. None of the prescription medications should be taken on their own. This may cause interactions and side effects and is dangerous to the patient's health.

Heart problems are one of the side effects seen in patients who take escitalopram. I would advise you to mention these symptoms to your doctor at your next appointment. If the arrhythmias are recurrent, it is all the more important to present the situation, as it may be necessary to switch to a different medication or modify the dosage.
