Hello
I'm in the process of weaning my baby, unfortunately this process is time-consuming and I'd like to start Saxenda treatment. Currently 1-2 feedings a day, at night and possibly at night.
Does the time of taking the medication matter in this case? How many hours does the highest concentration last?

Saxenda is not recommended during breastfeeding due to limited safety information.
There are no published data in the medical literature on excretion in breast milk, but the high molecular weight and high percentage of plasma protein binding make it unlikely that significant amounts of the drug will pass into breast milk. The decision to start treatment is up to the attending physician, who is familiar with your health condition in detail.
This medication persists in the body for up to a week after administration, so keeping the interval between administration and feeding is not a solution.
