Can I apply a new Evra patch right away if the previous one has peeled off, or wait until my next period?

Hello, I have evra anticoceptive patches, today I put them on for the first time, I wanted to stick it on my upper back, but I misread the instructions and the patch folded in half and I immediately threw it away, can I stick a new patch right away or wait until the next menstruation now?
