In the event that antibiotics and birth control pills are used at the same time, there is some risk of reducing the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. Then, throughout the entire period of antibiotic therapy and the first 7 days after its completion, it is recommended to use additional mechanical contraception, e.g. a condom. Then continue taking the pills at the usual time to maintain contraceptive protection.
