A minor should see a doctor with an adult guardian. A patient aged 16 to 18 years can take a greater part in the treatment process and co-decide about their health. Nevertheless, even at this age, treatment requires the participation of an adult representative. Help in case of emotional or mental difficulties can be sought - among others through the Helpline for Children and Youth: tel. 116 111. It is worth talking about a difficult mental situation with parents, guardians, another adult family member (grandfather, grandmother, aunt, perhaps siblings), educator or school counselor. Medication is not the best solution in every case.
