I breastfeed my 14-month-old daughter. In September I fell ill with conjunctivitis, which was complicated by bacterial inflammation of the eyes, despite breastfeeding I was prescribed tobrosopt-dex and cortineff, after reading the information about the medication I was very scared, but I took the medication trying to keep the interval between taking the drug and feeding my daughter. The doctor initially recommended a 2-week treatment, but shortened it to a weekly treatment due to breastfeeding. The medication only alleviated the symptoms and after a month everything came back and I am worried again because I think the doctor will prescribe the same medication or others that are also not recommended during breastfeeding. I wanted to breastfeed my daughter longer, but I'm afraid that my treatment will not harm her, and this insistence on breastfeeding in this situation is wrong? I will add that several years ago I was suffering from lichen planus and at that moment the disease returned and treatment will be needed here as well. And here is my question, while waiting for visits to specialists, which are even privately distant, I wanted to ask whether in my health situation, for my daughter (and perhaps for me), it will be a greater benefit to wean from the breast and calm treatment, or is it completely safe despite medication? My biggest priority is the health and well-being of my child, but I know that I also have to take care of my health.
