Good morning, In June this year in her husband,50 years, so far seemingly completely healthy, by accident , diagnosed with malignant kidney cancer. It is already after complete removal of the kidney. Unfortunately, recently a small nodule was also removed from the abdominal wall, which turned out to be a metastasis of kidney cancer. Well, and "something" was found on the head of the pancreas. Resonance studies are not conclusive, they indicate either endocrine tumors or pancreatic cancer. He is currently undergoing research (endoscopic biopsy, another tomograph). The husband has held on mentally so far. However, the news of the metastasis (this small lump cut entirely from the abdominal wall) and the subsequent waiting for tests, completely broke him. At my firm request and after consulting a doctor, I have been taking Escitalopram for about 2 weeks. The first few days 5mg, now 10mg. Initially, fears intensified (I know that so Escitalopram can work at the beginning, you have to survive). However, I'm a little worried because my husband almost does not eat anything, I hope it's "just" stress, sleeps a lot, sometimes just relaxes to close in despair again after a fairly short time. Unfortunately, he does not want to talk too much about his well-being. He lost weight heavily. Blood results etc has very good. These non-eating has increased since he started taking Escitalopram I was wondering if temporarily to make him feel a little relieved, he could take Afobam / Xanax ? After all, surely such drugs are for? Of course, we will ask the doctor at the next visit, but it is the weekend, bad with him mentally, and I have at home Afobam 0.5mg. Once, a few years ago, my panic disorder intensified and I also took Escitalopram plus at the beginning just Afobam. And I remember that he helped a lot Is it really Escitalopram can work in a way that you have no appetite at all? In general, surely the opposite is true? And yet proper nutrition is very important in cancer. Best regards Dominika
