Paracetamol is a painkiller metabolized mainly by the liver. Therefore, it is not recommended for use by people suffering from severe diseases of this organ. Hepatic steatosis itself is not a contraindication to taking paracetamol. However, it should be taken into account that steatosis can lead to the destruction of liver cells, so existing liver diseases increase the risk of toxic effects of paracetamol. In this case, caution should be exercised in taking the drug. If paracetamol is necessary, limit its use and take the lowest effective dose.
