Can I replace Epiduo with Differin cream?

Good morning, they use epiduo cream 2 times a week, but unfortunately I did not notice spectacular effects. Can I replace epiduo with differin cream? Do I need to take a break from use? Best regards

If you do not notice an improvement after Epiduo, then most likely there will be no improvement in the condition of the skin after Differin. In addition, from a pharmaceutical point of view, these are not equivalents, so we can not suggest changing the treatment yourself. Both Epiduo and Differin are prescription products and in case of doubt you should consult a dermatologist. Epiduo contains 1 mg of adapalene and 25 mg of benzoyl peroxide in one gram of product (0.1% + 2.5%), while Differin - only 1 mg of adapalene in one gram of product (0.1%). Both drugs therefore contain the same active ingredient - adapalene - in the same concentration, but Epiduo is richer with an additional ingredient (benzoyl peroxide). If there are no treatment effects after a two-component drug, then a drug with the same active ingredient, but poorer in benzoyl peroxide, does not promise in my opinion as more effective. Alternatively, if any, the side effects of benzoyl peroxide could disappear. Epiduo occurs only in the form of a gel, and Differin - gel or cream. The cream could have slightly different functional properties. At the same time, it should be noted that the therapy of skin lesions, including acne, is long-lasting and immediate effects should not be expected. Sometimes, instead of changing the drug, it may be more optimal to intensify the existing treatment, add an additional preparation or support in the form of cosmetics care aimed at the skin problem. As I mentioned - in your individual case it is best to consult a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja I enclose additional information about the drugs Epiduo and Differin. Prescription preparations can be reserved for WherePoLek and collected stationary upon presentation of the prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/27377/epiduo-zel/apteki/w-warszawie https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/23596/differin-krem/apteki/w-warszawie You may also be interested in our studies on acne: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-pozbyc-sie-tradziku-u-doroslych https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/dermokosmetyki-do-skory-tradzikowej
