Hello, does withholding stool 4 hours after the pill affect the effectiveness of contraception (tablets)? I heard that ordinary stool does not reduce the effectiveness but I prefer to ask.

There is no need to withhold stool due to taking the contraceptive pill. Simply passing stool does not weaken the effectiveness of contraception. Only if diarrhoea or vomiting occurs within 3-4 hours of taking the tablet - then there is a risk of weakening contraception.
