Transtec patches should only be used on the advice of a doctor. Transtec is a preparation containing buprenorphine, an opioid analgesic. The patches are used in the treatment of severe pain in the course of diseases in which treatment with non-opioid analgesics has not worked. Due to their action and indications, Transtec patches may prove effective in the treatment of pain caused by sciatica.
