Hello, I probably have doubts. I had 1 visit to a neurologist for severe migraines. After the interview I was prescribed Convulex 150 1 tablet per night for 1 week, then 2 tablets one in the morning, the other at night until the end of the package. And the specialist relied on the interview itself. I have some doubts, is it worth going to another neurologist? Thank you

In case of doubt, seeking a second opinion may be a good solution for you. However, you must make the decision yourself - we cannot review medical recommendations, in particular solely on the basis of your entry: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja To diagnose migraine, it may be sufficient to find in the patient's history certain characteristic features of ailments such as headache with nausea or vomiting, hypersensitivity to light, sounds, smells, duration of pain, its nature, triggering factors. Examinations (e.g. computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, examination of cerebral vessels) are usually referred to those patients who have some unusual symptoms and there is a suspicion that the headache may be caused by some other disease. In lighter cases of migraine, simple analgesics are used: paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. You wrote that migraines are strong. Valproic acid (the active ingredient in Convulex) has been proven effective in the prophylactic treatment of chronic migraine, although pharmacologically it belongs to antiepileptic drugs. I enclose additional information about the drug Convulex, which can be booked through WherePoLek and collected stationary upon presentation of a prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/19757/convulex-150-kapsulki/apteki/w-warszawie Our studies may also be helpful: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/leki-na-migrene https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/migrena-niezwykly-bol-glowy
