Good morning, I have been using Adaring for 3 years, after a break in using the disc I should put on a new one on Sundays at 12, but I put on Monday at 17 o'clock, in the following days there was intercourse. I will add that on Thursday during intercourse I pulled out the puck and forgot to put it in for 3 days, today I got my period. What should I do in such a situation? Is the appearance of the period despite the fact that I had it a week ago normal? What is the probability of pregnancy ?

The bleeding you mention is most likely due to a decrease in hormone levels as a result of improper use of the contraceptive disc. If you use the disc in the way described by you, the probability of getting pregnant is relatively high, because extending the break for withdrawal bleeding or a 3-day break in the use of the disc in the middle of the cycle makes the effectiveness of contraception significantly decrease. In the described case, however, the occurrence of bleeding may indicate that fertilization did not occur. In the current situation, please continue to use the disc, if you pull out the disc for a longer period than the manufacturer provides, to provide protection against pregnancy, the disc should be used for 7 consecutive days without interruption, and until then an additional method of contraception, e.g. a condom, should be used. If regular use of the disc causes you a problem, it is worth talking to your doctor about another, more convenient form of contraception, e.g. intrauterine devices, about which you will read more in the following texts: - https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/spirale-bezhormonalne - https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/wkladki-domaciczne
