Is it possible to combine the drugs Mesopral and Escitalopram?
Is it possible to take Mesopral reflux pills when taking the drug for depression Escitalopram on a daily basis? In the leaflet of Mesopral it is written that you should consult a doctor if you are using Citalopram. Is it the same as in Escitaloprama or something similar that can also have a bad effect? I don't have the opportunity to consult with my doctor right now.

In the future, I encourage you to inform the attending physician about all currently used drugs and dietary supplements, which will allow you to choose a safe and effective pharmacotherapy. Escitalopram contains a derivative of citalopram. It is a substance from the same group of drugs - selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Mesopral belongs to CYP2C19 inhibitors, it can theoretically inhibit the metabolism of Escitalopram (CYP2C19 substrate). In healthy volunteers, Mesopral moderately increases serum concentrations of Escitalopram without causing side effects. These drugs should be used with caution. Your doctor should check your response to treatment regularly.
