Can I stop taking Chlorprotixen myself?

I started taking chlorprothixen and after one dose after 2 hours I had a lot of side effects. From palpitations to such weakness and dizziness that I was close to fainting, I couldn't even get up. Should I stop the drug immediately or will the body get used to it and the effects will be milder?

Chlorprotixen should only be used in the way prescribed by the doctor, do not stop it on your own. Side effects of the drug are especially noticeable at the beginning of the treatment - over time they should be less severe, or completely pass. Side effects that occur after administration of the drug are also drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth or increased drooling, excessive sweating and fatigue. Chlorprothixen has a sedative and anxiolytic effect. One of the applications is also the treatment of anxiety and insomnia in neuroses and psychosomatic disorders. Due to its specificity, the substance has a hypnotic effect. If, after prolonged use of the drug, the side effects do not pass, are aggravated or disturbing, you should consult a psychiatrist.
