Hello. I take yasminelle birth control pills. I had problems with menstruation and the gynecologist advised me to stop them once a year until I got my period. At what point do I need to use condoms? If I have sex during 7 days of not taking pills and then I do not start the next package, is there a chance of pregnancy?

If you decide to discontinue Yasminelle tablets, you should choose the tablets from the package until the end. During the 7-day break that occurs during the continuous use of contraceptive pills, you are protected. Of course, if the tablets were taken correctly at the right intervals. After 7 days, you do not start the next package, so from this moment you should use other forms of contraception such as a condom. After discontinuation of tablets in most healthy women, ovulation occurs already in the first cycle. Nevertheless, this is an individual matter. It is worth knowing that after discontinuation of tablets, we can complain about worse well-being and other symptoms. Menstruation/bleeding after withdrawal may be irregular for about half a year.
