A test performed 22 days after intercourse should already show pregnancy if it happened. If you use hormonal contraception (you wrote that you are waiting for "withdrawal bleeding") then the risk of pregnancy with proper use is small. However, if bleeding does not occur and the birth control pills have not been used correctly, then a re-test may be considered.
