Hello. My mom ran out of donepex pills a few days ago. He has been hallucinating/hallucinating for two days. In the leaflet it is written that these hallucinations disappeared after the dose was reduced or the drug was discontinued. With my mom, it's the opposite. Is the reason for this precisely the discontinuation of the drug?

Usually, hallucinations or hallucinations disappear after reducing the dose of the drug or stopping treatment. Nevertheless, it is possible that, for example, in this case they are caused by too rapid discontinuation of the drug or even the disease itself. If Donepex has been changed to another drug - perhaps the mentioned symptoms are caused by this new drug. Observed side effects should be reported as soon as possible to the doctor, who will decide on further proceedings.
