Does passing 2 loose stools before taking the contraceptive pill and one 40 minutes after taking it affect contraception?

Good morning. I have a question about taking birth control pills. 2 hours before taking the tablet I had a loose stool and 40 minutes after taking the tablet another loose stool. Should I take an extra pill?

There is no need to take an additional tablet, protection is preserved. Protection could be reduced if diarrhoea occurs within 3-4 hours of taking the tablet. Loose stools before taking the drug do not affect its absorption. One loose stool after about 40 minutes after taking the tablet is not synonymous with diarrhea and does not affect the effectiveness of therapy. Protection is preserved. If it was only a one-time action, nothing will happen. The bowel movement would have to be 3 times during these 4 hours.

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
