When can I start having unprotected sex if I haven't taken my first Orlifique tablet?
When can I start having unprotected sex? Yesterday, unfortunately, while taking 1 tablet of Orlifique from a new blister, it fell out and got lost, so on the 1st day I did not take the tablet. Today I accepted normally another one from the package. I know that by omitting the first one, the effectiveness could have decreased. So when will the effectiveness return and when will I be able to start having sex without additional protection?

The Summary of Product Characteristics does not mention a situation in which one tablet is completely missed. It may be reported that an additional method of contraception should be used for 7 consecutive days or throughout the disturbed cycle. If you do not take Orlifique between 1 and 7 days of use, take the last missed tablet as soon as possible, even if it means taking two tablets at the same time. Then you should continue taking the next tablets at the usual time. In addition, an additional mechanical method of contraception, such as a condom, should be used for the next 7 days. If you have had intercourse in the previous 7 days, you should consider becoming pregnant. Adequate inhibition of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary axis requires uninterrupted taking of tablets for 7 days, so during this time an additional method of contraception should be used.
