Is using Ginoring contraceptive discs protected against pregnancy from the first day?

Good morning, on June 12 I took the pill the day after Escapelle, menstruation appeared to me with a delay of 4/5 days and last night I started using Ginoring discs. I wanted to know if the work of the discs is preserved, cxy is effective, or do you still need to use condoms?

If you started using contraceptive discs on the first day of menstrual bleeding, you are protected from becoming pregnant from the first day of use. In other cases, an additional mechanical method of contraception, most often a condom, should be used for the first 7 days.
