Can I smoke cigarettes, e-cigarettes or other tobacco products by taking Pramolan?

There are no absolute contraindications to smoking cigarettes, e-cigarettes or other tobacco products during treatment with Pramolan. However, such a combination should be avoided. Some sources say that cigarettes may weaken the effect of antidepressants. Aromatic hydrocarbons contained in tobacco smoke act on liver enzymes responsible for drug metabolism, increasing the activity of these enzymes. The result of this (in the case of smoking a large number of cigarettes) may be an acceleration of the breakdown of drugs, and thus – a significant reduction in their effectiveness. Other studies suggest that cigarette smoking reduces the risk of side effects from antidepressants. However, there are no clear indications that such a combination is completely safe - while taking into account the harmful effects of cigarettes on the respiratory system, such a combination should be avoided.
