How many days does the antibiotic Azycin have?

It has been determined that the therapeutic (i.e. quite high) concentration of azithromycin in the tissues persists for about 5-7 days after the last oral dose, while complete elimination of the drug may take up to about 17 days. For @Ola: It is recommended to use additional protection up to 7 days after the end of antibiotic therapy.

And in the case of birth control pills, would you have to protect yourself 7 days or 17 days after finishing taking the drug?

To @Ola: Antibiotics can affect the effectiveness of birth control pills because they affect the bacterial flora necessary for the proper absorption of pills. This does not matter in the case of a contraceptive implant. For @Ola: Macromax does not affect the effectiveness of the contraceptive implant - there is no need for an additional contraceptive method.

Since it can take up to about 17 days to completely eliminate the drug, if I take Macromax together with the Implanon NXT contraceptive implant, should I protect myself for an additional 7 days or 17 days after the drug is finished?
