Escapelle to skuteczna metoda zapobiegania ciąży w sytuacjach awaryjnych, ale nie jest ona skuteczna w 100%. Przeciętnie 2 na 100 kobiet korzystających z "tabletki po" zachodzi w ciążę. Escapelle działa poprzez blokowanie lub przesuwanie owulacji. Pomimo szybkiego przyjęcia tabletki mogło być tak, że owulacja dokonała się u Pani już wcześniej lub rozpoczęła się niedługo przed stosunkiem.
