Wenlafaksyna jest lekiem przeciwdepresyjnym - stosowana jest w leczeniu depresji oraz zaburzeń depresyjnych, np. lęku czy fobii. Nie jest to typowy lek nasenny, jednak poprzez swoje działanie wpływa on pozytywnie na sen - reguluje czynność snu i sprawia, że przebiega on prawidłowo, między innymi, bez wybudzeń spowodowanych odczuwaniem lęku.
Oczywiście lek należy stosować ściśle według zaleceń lekarza i przestrzegać określonych pór przyjmowania leku.
