Madam, what is the risk of pregnancy after breaking a condom on the 5th day of my cycle, if I took the morning-after pill within an hour?

On the 5th day of menstruation, there was sexual intercourse, after which it turned out that the condom broke, ovulation in 5-7 days (cycle 25-28 days), I drank a pill within an hour, what is the risk of pregnancy?

The risk of pregnancy in this situation is very low. On the 5th day of the cycle, the body is usually still before ovulation, although with shorter cycles (25 days) ovulation may occur earlier. The key thing is that you took the emergency pill very quickly – preparations such as Escapelle or ellaOne are most effective when used in the first hours, because they delay or inhibit ovulation.

To sum up: thanks to the fast action, the risk is significantly reduced. However, keep an eye on your cycle – if your period is more than about 5-7 days late, it's a good idea to take a pregnancy test. If you experience unusual symptoms (e.g. severe abdominal pain), consult your doctor.

If you are not able to use a stationary visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

The advice is held in Polish.

Confirmation of the absence of pregnancy can be a pregnancy test performed after about 10 days after intercourse:
