If you experience pain in the lower abdomen accompanied by fever, you should see a gynaecologist for a consultation and examination. It is difficult to assess what may be the cause of the ailments (the symptoms are non-specific), but gynecological ailments, including those related to the current Mirena IUD, should be ruled out. I also encourage you to perform other diagnostic tests (e.g. blood tests) to assess the general condition of the body (associated with significant weight loss).
