Can the concomitant use of Polpril, Primacor, Triticco, flunarizine and amitriptyline excessively lower blood pressure?
12.99 zł

Good morning. I take polpril 5mg in the morning, primacor 10mg in the evening and triticco 75mg. The doctor prescribed flunarizin 5mg and amitriptyline 25mg in the evening. Won't my blood pressure drop too much?

Indeed, among the drugs listed, there are those that can lower blood pressure or intensify the feeling of dizziness and weakness, especially after changing body position.

Polpril (ramipril) and Primacor (lercanidipine) have a blood pressure lowering effect - they are often combined for better effects. Trittico (trazodone), amitriptyline and flunarizine are not typical hypotensive agents, but may increase somnolence, dizziness and cause orthostatic hypotonia (pressure drops when standing up), especially at the start of therapy or after increasing doses.

The combination of these drugs requires observation of the body, especially in the first days of using flunarizine and amitriptyline. Pay attention to symptoms such as dizziness when standing up, feeling weak, excessive sleepiness, palpitations or fainting.

It is worth taking regular blood pressure measurements (especially in the morning and evening) and carefully getting up from a lying or sitting position. If the blood pressure values are noticeably low or you experience severe symptoms, it is worth contacting a doctor - sometimes it is enough to adjust the dose or time of taking medication.
