Can starting to use contraception the next morning after the onset of menstruation be counted as the first day?
12.99 zł

Good morning, I have a question. If the bleeding started yesterday at 8 p.m. and I inserted the disc this morning at 6:30 a.m., can it still be considered the first day of the cycle and full protection, or already the second day of the cycle (the first use of the ring without a previous method of contraception). Thank you very much in advance for your answer

Theoretically, the disc was applied within the first 24 hours of bleeding onset. If you want to be 100% sure about the effectiveness of contraception, I suggest - just in case - to adapt to the manufacturer's recommendations:

"The disc should be placed on the first day of the natural cycle (i.e. the first day of menstruation). It is also possible to start using the vaginal therapeutic system between the 2nd and 5th day of the cycle, but in this case, it is recommended to use a concomitant method of contraception for the first 7 days of the first cycle of use."

In case of any doubts, I encourage you to take advantage of the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available in the e-visit tab:

I recommend material on this method of contraception:
