Yes, Famogast (famotidine) can be used for a short time if the symptoms of reflux are mild to moderate and resolve after a few days of treatment.
It is not an addictive drug, so it is safe to stop therapy after improvement. However, if the symptoms frequently return, worsen or are accompanied by other alarm complaints (e.g. pain when swallowing, bleeding, sudden weight loss), you should consult a doctor as soon as possible for further diagnosis.
