Can the contraceptive pill sticking to the throat while drinking affect its effectiveness?
13.00 zł

Hello, can the contraceptive pill "sticking" to the throat while sipping it affect the effectiveness and I should take a spare pill? Today, while sipping the drug, I had the impression that it was stuck in my throat. After drinking another portion of water, this feeling still persisted, but to a lesser extent and slowly passed. There was no coughing or choking before or after, it just felt like I didn't fully swallow it

No, this situation will not affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception and there is no reason to take an additional portion of the drug. The pill eventually ended up in the gastrointestinal tract and nothing happened that could interfere with its functioning.

If you have any doubts, I encourage you to use the teleconsultation with a gynaecologist - the service is available in the e-visit tab:

I will add that I am already at the end of the current blister, hence my concern

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product.
