Hello, I have been taking Axia pills for several years. The last time I had sex was on February 12 (without additional protection) then I had light brown mid-cycle spotting, after 10 days there was withdrawal bleeding. With the 9th tablet, spotting occurred again, in addition to pain in the breast and right ovary. Can I be pregnant? Or did I just experience side effects from anti-prescription pills? Thank you for your reply

Yes, it can be normal to have a period when using birth control pills such as Zoely and is due to the hormones in the medicine.
Zoely contains estrogen and progestin, which can cause very little or even complete stopping of withdrawal bleeding, especially with long-term use. However, if you have doubts or notice other worrying symptoms, it is worth consulting a gynaecologist to rule out other causes. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

The advice is provided in Polish.
