Hello, a terrible thing happened to me. During defecation, the puck fell out into the toilet. He did not get dirty directly, but touched the stool. I felt it right away, so I immediately took the disc and rinsed it under lukewarm water at least 10 times, dried it and put it back in. Is this the right thing to do?

Due to the fact that the vaginal ring may have lost its properties through contact with stool, water and cleaning products used in the toilet, a new ring should be inserted in such a situation.
There is also a risk of infection due to the possibility of transferring bacteria naturally living in the anal area and in the large intestine to the vaginal environment on the disc.
I encourage you to read additional opinions in similar inquiries:
If it is the first or second week of using the ring, due to the uncertainty about the effectiveness of contraceptive protection and more than 3 hours from the moment of the event, I encourage you to use additional methods of contraception for at least 7 consecutive days.
