Due to the fact that the vaginal ring may have lost its properties through contact with stool, water and cleaning products used in the toilet, a new ring should be inserted in such a situation.
There is also a risk of infection due to the possibility of transferring bacteria naturally living in the anal area and in the large intestine to the vaginal environment on the disc.
