Should I change my pills if I bleed twice a month with Yaz?
9.99 zł

Since the end of the postpartum period, I have been taking yaz tablets - currently about 5 months. I take the pills correctly, but each time in the 3rd week there is bleeding, which lasts several days and is moderately heavy. This is bothersome for me, especially since bleeding also occurs while taking placebo tablets, so in the 4th week. Should I change my pills?

Most likely, you will need to change your contraceptive. Usually, spotting or mid-cycle bleeding occurs at the beginning of therapy, i.e. in the first 2-3 months. If it lasts up to the 5th cycle, it is worth consulting a gynecologist. Perhaps he or she will recommend a change, for example, to pills with a progestogen other than drospirenone, e.g. the so-called third-generation contraceptives m.in. Vines, Logest or fourth-generation e.g. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/dienogest or contraceptive patches.

If you are unable to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:
