I've been taking Escitalopram 10mg for over three weeks. I sleep better, but during the day I struggle with inner restlessness! Can this be caused by the tablets?

Yes, it can be. In my case, the side effects occurred after a year of taking Escitalopram 10 mg. The psychiatrists told me to continue the treatment, but I had terrible anxiety attacks and general intoxication. Thanks to their advice, I lost two jobs and my school. Contrary to appearances, it is a very dangerous drug, and psychiatrists are not able to listen to the patient's needs and complaints (even privately). Please set aside. It has to get better with time.

According to the information about the drug: "Some patients with panic disorder may experience an increase in anxiety symptoms in the initial period of treatment with antidepressants. This paradoxical reaction usually resolves within two weeks with continued treatment."
Anxiety is also a common side effect of Escitalopram - it occurs in up to 1 in 10 patients using the drug. It usually disappears over time, but if it persists, it is worth reporting it to your doctor.
Reporting side effects allows you to gather more information about the safety of medicines and update data on them, which can help other patients in the future. We wrote about how to report them here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane
Adverse drug reactions can also be reported individually: https://www.urpl.gov.pl/pl/produkty-lecznicze/monitorowanie-bezpieczeństwa-leków/zg moose-side-effect-0
