The decision to switch from Feroplex to iron tablets (e.g. Sorbifer Durules, Tardyferon) should be made after consultation with your doctor.
A pharmacist in a pharmacy can only make a substitution within the substitutes for a specific preparation. We wrote about what substitutes are in the article:

When your doctor prescribes Feroplex, you cannot be offered another prescription medication because there is no substitute for Feroplex.
