Whether Chlorprothixen Does Zentiva work similarly to Afobam?

Both drugs have anxiolytic effects, but have a different mechanism of action.

Chlorprothixen Zentiva is a drug containing chlorprothyxen, which belongs to the neuroleptics and exerts sedative, anxiolytic and antiemetic effects. It is indicated for adults in the treatment of various types of psychoses, states of anxiety and insomnia, which occurs in people struggling with neurosis and psychosomatic disorders. Chloroprothixene works m.in by blocking postsynaptic receptors
dopaminergic receptors in the brain and alpha-adrenergic receptors.

Afobam, on the other hand, is an oral medication that contains alprazolam, a substance with anxiolytic effects. The preparation is indicated for short-term treatment of various types of anxiety disorders, when the symptoms are severe and prevent daily functioning. It is assumed that alprazolam exerts an inhibitory effect on the central nervous system by acting on GABA.
