She has been taking Kontracept tablets for 2.5 years. After 14 hours from taking the fifth tablet from the package, I had flaccidity and diarrhea. The doctor recommended Smecte to me. I drank one dose at 8:30 a.m. and took my sixth contraceptive pill at 12 p.m. After taking the pill, I no longer had vomiting or diarrhea, but I drank one more dose of smecta around 5 p.m. I'm now stressed that the effectiveness of contraception may have been compromised. Could Smecta interfere with the pills?

Taking Smecta more than 4 hours after taking the contraceptive pill does not reduce the effectiveness of your hormonal contraception. The first interval is approximately 3.5 hours, which is also not expected to have a major impact on the effectiveness of Kontracept.
